“For a ‘short guide’, this book manages to cover a huge range of questions that are often asked by new vegans, by people who are curious about the vegan lifestyle, and even by people who have been vegan for some time. The nutritional and scientific information is thoroughly referenced and makes a strong case for the health benefits of a vegan diet. The book also discusses the impact of a vegan lifestyle on the planet and the animals who call it home, and it even provides a few easy and affordable vegan recipes. It’s a great starter kit for anyone interested in moving towards a vegan lifestyle.”

“First and foremost high vegan five to a divine vegan sister through space and time, Vivian Penelope Alvéz. What she has accomplished with this guide really is incredibly valuable. I’m an educator, facilitator and animal advocate myself and I can tell you education is where it’s at! Showing people in a very refreshing, organised and extremely wide ranged way how to be vegan, how to live vegan and how to feed your dog vegan, this guide really has it all. Yummy recipes to hard facts, it’s all there - an absolute must for all vegans past present and future and all non vegans past present and future, because one day we will all see it and a guide like Vivian’s just takes us a step further to that reality.”
Karo started her own company The Veganator in early 2013 and has since then travelled all over the world, facilitating vegan events, educational programs and cooking workshops. “Easy to read, being written in a conversational tone. Not an authoritative guide (and it certainly doesn’t purport to be), but rather a well-written and concise introduction to the world of veganism.”
“There is a lot of information about different aspects of veganism. One fact that I found very interesting is that atherosclerosis is something that only herbivores suffer from and it is caused by eating fat and cholesterol. There is a link to a study which states that it can easily be produced experimentally in herbivores and only herbivores. Various tables showing the features that we humans have which make us herbivores were also interesting. It is great that Vivian Penelope Alvéz has done the research and put all this information together for us to use. Some of it is very brief, but nevertheless very informative and extended by the references.“
